Q. I’d like to start the game. How can I install the game?
A. Once you register in the homepage, go to Homepage > Download > Game download > Turf Battles FULL version to install the main game and the patch.
Q. While installing the game with the files from the homepage nothing happens.
A. The set up time is different depending on your computer spec. Wait for 5-10 minutes first and if nothing still happens, it means that the installation files are damaged due to unexpected problems. If so, please download the files and install them again.
Q. Although Turf Battles is activated after the installation, it goes back to the desktop without any warning message. What shall I do?
A. It could be one of the following three cases.
First, the values of the control pad, Display, or Setup, or Color are not correct.
Second, the graphic card driver version is too lower or not compatible.
Third, the DirectX is not installed correctly.
To find out which case is your problem, you need to send dxdiag.txt to us.
Go to Windows Start -> Run -> dxdiag to activate the DirectX diagnostic tool and create DxDiag.txt by clicking the Save all information. Report to Aeria Games.
Q. Connection is lost while downloading from the homepage. What do I need to do?
A. Turf Battles Setup files are quite heavy so if the connection is unstable, the download can fail. In this case, please download the Turf Battles launcher only files to install and connect to the server to get the next update files. Otherwise, please use such programs as GetRight or Go!Zilla which can be downloaded from the Internet resources like www.artmedia.org to continue to download.
Q. Turf Battles was activated, but it doesn’t start with a error message saying that the d3ddrv.dll file cannot be read. What do I need to do?
A. The error message shows that the installed DirectX version is lower than 8.0 in your computer. Please download DirectX 8.1 or higher from resource websites.
Q. I use a modem at home. Can I play Turf Battlles with a modem?
A. If you connect to the Internet with a modem, technically you can install the game. However, downloading the patch files caused by big game files will take a long time. Only when the game is stable and the size of patch files is considerably small, a modem play is recommended. There is no special method to play a game with a modem.
Q. I thought I was connected to Turf Battles, but the connection is not working. What’s the cause of this problem?
A. First of all, please check the schedule for Turf Battles server maintenance from the homepage announcement menu. If this is not the case, please check the status of the Internet connection at your home.
If either of these is not your case, please go to Windows Start -> Run -> dxdiag to activate the DirectX diagnostic tool and create DxDiag.txt by clicking the Save all information. Report to Aeria Games.
If we’re in the middle of the server maintenance, we will notify you of the service time from our homepage.
Q. It is too slow. Why is this?
A. Turf Battles requires the following computer specification:
Minimum requirements: Celeron 600, Ram 128M, Graphic card - TNT2, Maxrox G400 and higher, Voodoo 3,4,5
Recommended requirements: Pentinum 3 800, Ram 256M, Graphic card – GeForce 2, Radeon 7200 or higher
Optimal requirements: Pentinum 4, Ram 256M, Graphic card - GeForce 4 or higher
Graphic card: TNT2, Geforce2 MX or higher, ATI Radeon, Voodoo3, Voodoo4, Matrox G400 or higher
(Please note that any other graphic cards will not work.)
With the minimum requirements (TNT2, Maxrox G400 or higher, Voodoo 3,4,5 card), the image quality and game speed will be considerably low and some specific options are not provided.
Voodoo Ⅲ(Please set the display mode to 16bit.)
nVidia TnT2(The speed can slow down.)
If you remove some options, the game speed can improve a bit.
Q. How can check the graphic card in my computer?
A. It is to display what the computer processed to your monitor and every computer is installed with graphic card. To check the graphic card and monitor category, please go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Display --> Settings --> Display.
Q. If you are a VIA board user, please check the following.
A. The hardware and software combination of VIA chipset main board + Windows XP + nVidia VGA card + AMD CPU or higher cannot guarantee the system stability.
Please avoid the above combination and it’s recommended to install the latest “4 in 1” chipset patch of the Via board.
Q. How about the graphic card with main board integration chipset?
A.When you use the graphic functions of sis650, Intel 82810, 82815, 82845G/GL Integration chipset, game activation is difficult and even if it works, all kinds of error messages will appear and that would make it difficult to play a game.
We recommend that you use more powerful 3D graphic cards.(ATI Radeon class or Nvidia TNT2/GeForce class)
Q. How to set up the system optimization for Turf Battles?
A. Since Turf Battles is a full 3D game, it requires a system optimization even with a high spec computer.
The key thing is to se up graphic card and virtual memory properly. You need to install graphic card driver and it is to work well with the Windows system.
Most graphic card companies distribute their latest graphic card drivers in their homepages and Microsoft official driver version (WHQL) also works well with Turf Battles.
Virtual memory cannot be set up in the Windows 98. To set it up, please go to My computer > mouse right click > Properties> Advanced > Performance options and set it to 2048 for minimum volume.
In the Windows XP, please go to My computer > mouse right click > Properties > Advanced > Performance setup button > Advanced > Virtual memory change button and set the initial volume and the maximum volume to 2048.
